Reflux is an innovative multi-currency cryptocurrency wallet that allows users to manage multiple digital assets and NFTs in one place. As the inaugural product designer for the Reflux mobile app, I was responsible for leading the design of the MVP for iOS, ensuring a seamless experience for users to easily buy, store, and view their cryptocurrencies and NFTs. The wallet also integrates with Apple Pay to make cryptocurrency purchases more accessible and convenient.
Challenge
The challenge was to design a user-friendly and secure mobile app for managing multiple cryptocurrency portfolios and NFTs. Users needed a simple yet powerful interface that allowed them to view balances, manage transactions, and oversee their assets across multiple blockchains. Additionally, the app needed to integrate with third-party payment solutions like Apple Pay, making the buying process more intuitive while ensuring security and compliance with best practices in crypto wallet design.
Process
I began by conducting a thorough analysis of competing crypto wallets and user expectations. I defined key user flows for managing cryptocurrency portfolios and purchasing assets through Apple Pay. Wireframes were designed and iterated upon based on user testing, ensuring the interface was both intuitive and secure. I worked closely with the engineering team to incorporate blockchain functionality, including Ethereum-based NFTs, and integrated Apple Pay into the wallet’s payment flow.
The design focused on simplicity, ensuring users could easily switch between multiple wallets and manage their assets. Visual elements like charts, portfolio overviews, and NFT galleries were incorporated to make data interpretation straightforward and engaging.
Outcome
The result was a streamlined, user-friendly cryptocurrency wallet for iOS that simplifies asset management and purchasing. The app enabled users to view and manage multiple currency portfolios, purchase cryptocurrencies with ease using Apple Pay, and display NFTs from the Ethereum blockchain. Plans for future development include a desktop app with cross-sync capabilities and support for web3 application interactions.
The MVP was completed in just three months, with Reflux set for an early 2023 launch. The wallet is positioned to offer a comprehensive solution for both casual users and seasoned cryptocurrency investors.
